How to treat your candle
Burning Ritual
To fully enjoy your Moiizo candle and maintain its aesthetic appeal, it is essential to follow a careful burning ritual. By adhering to these steps, you not only ensure a longer lifespan for your candle but also prevent potential safety risks.
Before Burning
- Fully Liquid: When using, wait until the entire surface of the candle is liquid before extinguishing it. This ensures that the candle burns evenly and prevents tunneling.
- Maximum Burn Time: Never burn the candle for more than one hour once the entire surface has become liquid. A candle that burns for too long can overheat, which may result in a candle fire.
- Last 1 cm: Never burn the last 1 cm of wax to prevent the flame from touching the ceramic, which can cause it to crack.
After Burning
- Positioning Wicks: Vertically reposition the wicks to their original place before the wax fully hardens. This helps maintain an even burn for the next time you light the candle.
- Prevent Soot Formation: To prevent soot formation, regularly trim the wicks to a maximum height of 0.6 cm.
-
Cleaning: Clean the inside of the candle regularly to prevent soot buildup. This contributes to a cleaner burn and maintains the aesthetic value of your candle.

General safety rules
-
Never burn a candle on or near anything that can catch fire
Keep burning candles away from furniture, curtains, bedding, carpets, books, paper, and other flammable decorations. -
Keep burning candles out of the reach of children and pets
Ensure candles are placed where children and animals cannot reach them to prevent accidents. -
Always keep a burning candle within sight
Extinguish all candles before leaving a room or going to sleep. Make sure the wick ember is completely out and no longer glowing. -
Never touch or move a burning candle or container candle when the wax is liquid
This can cause burns or spills of hot wax. -
Always burn candles in a well-ventilated room
Avoid burning too many candles in a small room or in a home with limited air exchange. -
Make sure the candleholder is specifically designed for candle use
The holder should be heat-resistant, sturdy, and large enough to catch dripping wax. -
Keep the wax pool free of wick trimmings, matches, and debris at all times
This helps ensure the candle burns properly and safely. -
Never use a candle as a nightlight
Using candles while sleeping poses a serious fire hazard. -
Extinguish a candle if it repeatedly smokes, flickers, or if the flame becomes too high
This indicates the candle is not burning properly. Let it cool, trim the wick, and check for drafts before relighting. -
Keep burning candles away from drafts, vents, ceiling fans, and air currents
This helps prevent rapid or uneven burning, flame flare-ups, and sooting. Drafts can also blow nearby objects into the flame, causing a fire hazard. -
Never use a knife or sharp object to remove wax drips from a holder
This could damage the holder or cause injury. -
Place burning candles at least 3 inches apart from one another
This ensures they do not melt each other or create drafts that could lead to improper burning. -
Use a snuffer to extinguish a candle
This is the safest way to prevent hot wax splatter. -
Never extinguish candles with water
Water can cause hot wax to splatter and may cause the container to crack or break. -
Do not burn candles for more than 2 hours at a time
This helps prevent the container or glass from overheating.
